caminito in the making: weaving
Take a peek behind the scenes of how our weavers transform colored yarn into woven blankets!
First off the warp is prepared for the looms. The colored yarn is transfered from larger cones to canillas (smaller spools), and then either passed through the loom by hand (for detailed sections) or in a shuttle (for larger colored areas) all on their beautiful wooden floor looms. Each of our blankets is woven by hand by talented weavers in central Mexico. We are so grateful to be able to work directly with this community of weavers and help support their craft.
